| Bio: | I'm Leslie. I was born in Memphis, TN. Lived there 'til I was 8, 8 and a half... something like that. Moved to Athens, GA, because my mom was accepted into vet school (UGA). Moved around for about a year, then finally moved into a house in Oglethorpe County after my grandma croaked. After 7 years or so of that, in the last week of November 2004, in the middle of my sophomore year, we moved to Abbeville, SC. Been here a year and a half, and we're just now moving into the house we've been building for close to a year now. Went to Abbeville High for a while, then transferred to Dixie High (Due West, SC) for my junior year. And now I'm a senior there. Soon as school's in again, anyway. The whole moving around thing has been about 75% of what's molded me into the person that I am (or at least pretend to be); that's why I bothered typing it all out. I'm not happy with the same old situations, especially as far as people and music are concerned (though there are exceptions). I think the above has something to do with it. Sometimes I do things because I feel like doing something different. Veganism, for instance. If you're not one now and you don't give a flying fuck about the cows and their stupid udders, never, ever try it. You'll miss cheese like you'd never imagine possible. I like Heart. I like feminism as long as it's not the sexist sort. They're like the Malcolm X's of the female world. Fuck them. I don't care much for liberals, unless they're liberals with some sense (haha, I know, sounds oxymoronic, right?). I like Richard Nixon because he didn't like hippies. I don't like him because he was pretty much the same as all the other white conservative politicians of the time. Oh, I'm white. If that offends you, I don't give a flying fuck. If you think it's a plus that I'm white, then you can go fuck yourself. Breakfast of Champions, Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates, 1984, and All Quiet on the Western Front are all worth reading. Yo hablo español. Un poquito. My mom's side of the family is Anglo-sax with a Honduranian influence, thanks to my great-grandfather, whom I never knew. Not to mention my uncle Billy, who's married to my Cuban aunt Nellie. They're both bilingual, as well as their kids (my cousins) and all live in Miami. It's warm in Miami. I don't really like people younger than me. People my own age tend to piss me off. I'm pretty much disenchanted with the entire generation. Actually, I don't like much of anyone until they give me a good reason to appreciate their existence. Robert E. Lee was one of the saddest people I've ever read about. I cried when I read one of the biographies written about him. To any of you who think Southerners are all a bunch of "redneck, nigger-hating, racist, slow sons-of-bitches," you may also go fuck yourself. Because you probably use your reflexive pronouns incorrectly, you sorry sack(s) of shit. And for the love of God and baby fucking Jesus (whom I'm not a big fucking fan of, either), the Civil War wasn't about fucking slavery. Your history teacher probably gave you the same "the South was evil" bullshit my teachers have given me most years. If you see me getting high, knock me down. | |||||
